It has two features: an especially elaborate sentence structure based on parallel figures from the ancient rhetorics and a wealth of ornament including proverbs, incidents from history and poetry, proverbs, and similes drawn from pseudoscience, from textbooks, or from the author’s imagination. <BR><BR><BR><BR>Euphuism became a rage for a while, especially at court. <BR><BR><BR><BR>Although it did not last, this highly artificial and elaborate style is an example of the Elizabethans’ fascination with language and its possible artifices. <BR></P>
